One of the most frequently overlooked places to create additional storage is in the garage. There are tons of handy tool racks, shelves, overhead storage bins, water resistant storage containers and work areas that can be purchased online or at your friendly neighborhood home improvement super store.

With a bit of web browsing, you can find a ton of sites with specific products and idea. I’ve found it helpful to visit a few of these sites just to look at the pictures. A good site with a variety of products is Storic Storage Systems. You’ll be amazed at the number of items specifically designed for garage storage that is available on the web.

Before You Store Anything in Your Garage

Be careful what you store in your garage. Be sure you do not store anything in a garage which would respond adversely to temperature swings. If you live in a place that gets very cold in the winter don’t store anything that could freeze and split open on an upper shelf. Furniture and anything with fabric should not be stored in a hot and dry garage.
